About the Original:

This piece speaks about the human proclivity to move forward or past the dirty parts of life without actually examining the self and/or the issue at hand. This concept is illustrated in a 1970 VW Bug (the past), the driver donning shades (looking forward and not at oneself), driving through a car wash (the urgency to be rid of something without giving it personal attention), and in the title which pokes fun at the notion that washing and going will somehow evade our problems.
